CREMANT

CREMANT

Crémant d'Alsace has benefited from a controlled designation of origin since 1976. It is a lively, delicate, and sparkling wine, produced using the traditional method, much like Champagne. It is primarily made from Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, or Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes are harvested earlier than the others to preserve their youth and freshness through aromas of citrus and white flowers. It is distinguished by its great finesse and incredible elegance, making it the perfect accompaniment to your aperitifs. Its discreetly fruity freshness will enhance your cold or hot starters with seafood or white meats. Finally, Brie and Camembert will also be sublime.

GEWURZTRAMINER

GEWURZTRAMINER

Gewurztraminer, literally "spicy or musky traminer," flourished in Alsace after 1870. It is a selection of an old grape variety known throughout Alsace, the pink Traminer. A high-class tasting wine, Gewurztraminer is the most famous of Alsace wines. Blessed with a veritable explosion of aromas and complexity on the palate, its notes are initially floral, with hints of rose, then spicy (peppermint, clove) and fruity (lichti, mango). On the palate, it is a rich, rich, and creamy wine with a beautiful structure. With aging, aromas of honey and licorice complement a mineral finish. Gewurztraminer pairs perfectly with spicy dishes and strong, full-bodied cheeses like Munster, as well as foie gras and the strongest spices and herbs. It is therefore the ideal partner for many Asian dishes: Chinese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai, and Indian cuisine.

MUSCAT

MUSCAT

As early as 1510, Muscat is mentioned in the parish registers of Wolxheim. Currently, two varieties are used in Alsace: Muscat, known as Alsace, is a grape variety identical to that of the south, therefore relatively late maturing in the Rhine climate and, as such, is often associated with Muscat Ottonel. Muscat Ottonel ripens early and is sensitive to flowering accidents. This is the best example of a wine with primary aromas. Highly aromatic, it wonderfully expresses the flavor of fresh fruit. This fruit intensity is sometimes complemented by subtle floral notes. Vinished dry, it truly gives the impression of biting into the grape. The freshness and hint of subtle bitterness contribute to the wine's spontaneity and harmony.

PINOT BLANC

PINOT BLANC

Also called Klevner (not to be confused with Klevener de Heiligenstein, which corresponds to the Savagnin Rose grape variety), this is the white form of Pinot Noir. Originally from the Burgundy vineyards, it arrived in Alsace at the end of the Middle Ages. More discreet than Riesling, its fresh nose offers delicate notes of apple, peach, and pear. Ripes early, it is dry and offers a refreshing freshness on the palate. Pinot Blanc, a convivial and enjoyable wine, will perfectly accompany your simple dishes without sauce, preferably for a light meal. Fish en papillote, shellfish, white meats, poultry, and egg dishes (eggs en cocotte, omelets, quiches). It also pairs well with mild cheeses (Gruyère cream, Carré Frais, fresh goat cheese, etc.).

PINOT GRIS

PINOT GRIS

This is a Pinot of Burgundy origin called Pinot Beurrot in the Côte d'Or region and introduced to Alsace at the end of the 17th century. It produces a heady, sometimes sweet and full-bodied wine, which, with a fresh, rich, and powerful bouquet, ages admirably. Pinot Gris boasts a great aromatic complexity enhanced by notes of candied fruit, with a honeyed, smoky side and a slight floral touch reminiscent of quince jelly.

PINOT NOIR

PINOT NOIR

Due to the mosaic of Alsace's soils, Pinot Noir has successfully established itself since the Middle Ages. It is the only grape variety in Alsace to produce a red or rosé wine with a typical fruity flavor reminiscent of cherries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, and raspberries. It can be aged in oak barrels, which adds a fuller, more complex structure to its aromas.

RIESLING

RIESLING

This is the Rhine grape variety par excellence, undoubtedly the finest and noblest in Alsace production. A late-ripening variety, it has the unique ability to continue ripening even at relatively low temperatures. Harvested relatively late, it produces a dry, refined, and distinguished wine with lively acidity, combining a delicate bouquet with fruity aromas of citrus, white flowers, and acacia in its youth. As it ages, it imparts aromas with mineral notes, such as flint or petroleum, which are not flaws. The balance between acidity, fruitiness, and structure make it the undisputed king of Alsace wines.
